São Francisco
Armchair 98x93x62cm
Sofa 160/205/260x105x62cm
The fourth piece from Mobília Puro is the “São Francisco” armchair, a large-scale piece focused on comfort. Inspired by traditional Club Chairs or Smoking Chairs created for clubs frequented by American soldiers in post-war France, these robust chairs are made from durable materials like leather. Club Chairs have crossed various eras and remain a central element in living areas, adding presence and elegance.
The “São Francisco” armchair features an unusual hemi-hexagonal shape, with an outer covering of pony leather and an interior made of fabric. The choice of materials creates endless possibilities that are nearly impossible to replicate, making each piece unique in its existence. Stainless steel feet add shine and lightness, contrasting with the chair’s robustness.
The comfort of sitting translates into a moment of relaxation. The “São Francisco” armchair is designed for long conversations with a glass in hand.
We name our pieces based on Brazilian topography. The “São Francisco” armchair has the shape of a delta and takes its name from the well-known river of national integration, the “Old Chico”. In addition to providing water, it holds significant economic, social, and cultural value for our country. It traverses very distinct biomes, such as the unusual Caatinga, the beautiful Cerrado, and the rich Atlantic Forest. The dialogue between the river and the biomes serves as inspiration for the construction of this piece, where we find an unexpected meeting of different contexts.
The “São Francisco” sofa was born out of the need to expand the line. Initially designed as an armchair, the “São Francisco” inspired the desire to create a larger seat to complement spaces with its sculptural and unique form. The sofa is available in three distinct sizes for 2, 3, and 4 people (160/205/260 cm). It is a piece full of symbolism, featuring an unique combination of materials that is impossible to overlook.
