PARAITINGA

58x58x130

The Paraitinga Chair is a high-back piece conceived to integrate a new family within Mobília Puro, alongside the Paraibuna Chair and the Paraíba dining table. Much like the rivers that inspire their names, the pieces relate both structurally and conceptually: the meeting of the Paraitinga and Paraibuna rivers forms the Paraíba River, establishing a narrative of convergence and continuity within the collection.

Mobília Puro also maintains here its practice of naming pieces after Brazilian territories — rivers, landscapes, and formations that help construct a continuous cartography within the collection. More than a literal reference, these names act as a way of situating each object within a broader cultural landscape.

Formally, the Paraitinga stands out for its tall, linear backrest. Stainless steel once again defines the line with precision and structural lightness. The natural cane seat, a traditional material in Brazilian chairs, introduces texture and constructive memory. This choice is not driven by nostalgia, but by the recognition of a technique that remains relevant due to its efficiency, durability, and thermal comfort.

At the top of the backrest, the final triangle subtly folds, creating the suggestion of a crown when the chair is in use. This gesture completes the piece with a clear, almost heraldic graphic element, while maintaining the formal restraint that characterizes the brand.

The Paraitinga Chair will be launched at Sparte, in São Paulo. Its sister piece, the Paraibuna Chair, will be presented the following week during Fuorisalone, in Milan.
