ITAMARATI

The Itamarati armchair is born from a precise geometric structure, where each plane derives from hexagonal geometry. The design emphasizes defined lines and robust proportions, resulting in a piece that conveys strength and rigor. More than responding to everyday use, its vocation is tied to elegance, permanence, and a certain silent monumentality. It is an armchair that completes its surroundings and naturally becomes a point of reference.
From the beginning, MobíliaPuro has built its trajectory on the idea of furniture as a durable object, capable of enduring time without losing relevance. Each creation emerges from the intersection of design rigor, careful material selection, and manual craftsmanship. The Itamaratiarmchair reaffirms this almost architectural role, in which form and presence carry as much weight as function.
The name Itamaratifits within this expanded understanding of territory commonly used in the naming of Puro’s pieces—speaking not only of physical geography, but of a deeply recognized cultural landmark. Its indigenous origin does not have a single, definitive translation, a characteristic that preserves a certain openness of meaning and avoids literal interpretations. The name remains, like the piece itself, available to time and to different readings.
It is also necessary to associate it with the strength of the Itamaraty Palace, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, a landmark work by Oscar Niemeyer in Brazilian architecture. A synthesis of structural balance and refinement, the building has become a symbol of the country’s institutional representation.
Presented in Milan as the heart of the collection, the Itamaratiarmchair naturally assumes a role of representation. Just as the palace was conceived to engage with the world, the piece crosses borders carrying with itPuro’s interpretation of Brazilian design.
