Araras

36x36x50cm

The fifth piece from Mobília Puro is the “Araras” side table. Curious and sculptural, this piece completely disassembles into three thin sheets of steel that can be stored in its bag, making it highly mobile. Designed to move through your space according to your needs.
The “Serra das Araras”, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a striking mountain range celebrated for its breathtaking views and rich natural beauty. Similarly, the arara, or macaw, is a vibrant bird native to Brazil's rainforests, renowned for its stunning blue, yellow, and red plumage. We combined these two concepts to name our new two-sided foldable piece, capturing the essence of both the majestic landscape and the vivid flapping of the macaw's wings.
It consists of three distinct sheets with precise and intuitive adjustments. The base is made up of two sheets that join together with a hinge that allows for variable angles. The tallest sheet serves as the tray holder, becoming a handle for transporting the assembled piece. The tray follows a hexagonal shape and features a groove that connects it to the base structure.
Like the other pieces from Puro, attention to design and interaction with ambient light is considered an integral part of the design. The central groove and the material of the piece create light, shadow, and reflections.
A functional supporting sculpture.
