Dois Irmãos

60x60x32cm

The second piece from Mobília Puro is the “Dois Irmãos” side table, designed to be a versatile piece that can be used as a coffee table, side table, or even a bedside table, whether on its own or in a composition.
The “Morro dos Dois Irmãos”, located in Rio de Janeiro, is the most iconic pair of mountains in Brazil and gives its name to this piece.
“Dois Irmãos” plays with the use of noble and primitive materials. Brass and stainless steel contrast with the rusticity and texture of braziliansandstone. This rock, while raw, has a delicacy; when polished, it reveals the sedimentation marks of time.
The precise geometric shape of the structure contrasts with the thickness and irregular finish of the stone. The reflection of the structure was designed to give the piece a sense of lightness, reflecting the surface it rests on, while the use of brass feet creates a small gap for light to pass through, highlighting the design of the piece.
It’s a combination of techniques and materials intended to evoke sensations, as Puro continues to draw from the world of art to create its furniture.
